More than just cheap LASIK

Sure, it's great that LASIK in Thailand costs only a fraction of what it costs in Europe, America or many other Asian cities. But there is more to it. LASIK is a specialized procedure and most would agree that besides the quality of the equipment it's the experience of the surgeon that make the difference. Because of it's status as a regional LASIK center with thousands of overseas patients, Bangkok offers both.

Thailand has over the years evolved into a major player in the field of medical tourism. People come here from all over the world not just for LASIK, but for a wide range of medical services. Dental services and cosmetic surgery are among the most popular, but the numbers of Americans, Singaporeans, Japanese and Europeans who come here for hip relplacements or multiple bypasses is growing explosively as well. Why? Services are of excellent quality, they are priced at a fraction of what they cost back home and ... they are available at short notice. There are no waiting lists for appointments here.

In the places recommended on this site, you as a foreigner will not be a strange sight to anybody. Quite the opposite - they are prepared for you with english speaking staff and information materials in various languages.
