Are prices negotiable?

Especially in the bigger clinics - those where the treating dentists don't have an ownership stake - generally not. At least not for minor treatments like a filling or an extraction. On the other hand, if you are looking for a total make-over or expensive implants, things change.

Prices for specific treatments might not be negotiable, but often there are different treatment options available. While many dentists will present them clearly to you and let you choose, some might just assume that for you only the best (as in 'most expensive') is good enough...

Crowns, bridges and implants are the best examples. Prices cover a wide range and if you are willing to go for a less famous brand or manufacturer, you can in some cases save 50% or more. Ask for your options beforehand.

Especially for dental implants there is a real competition among the various clinics and hospitals in Bangkok. Often they have special packages on offer. Check their websites before you go.

Showing that you care about cost is a smart policy in any case. Even if you know already that you are going to go for the best of the best, top of the range bridge or implant they have.

Dentists in Thailand know that services are MUCH cheaper here than were you are from. And yes, Thai dentists are human too and surly also sometimes tempted to charge more if they get the impression you don't care.
