| The tension can be felt, rumors are spreading. It feels like the city is preparing itself for the final battle. Office workers leave the work early, companies are busy preparing emergency plans. After this weekend there will be a different scenario, no more standstill which dominated Bangkok during the last six weeks. |

Sun, Surf and Surgery
The biggest LASIK clinics in Thailand are in Bangkok, but if you come here for holidays, you probably prefer to spend most of your time outside the City of Angels. The best idea might be to have your surgery and the first check-up done in Bangkok and then go for the one week check-up in Phuket, Chiang Mai or Pattaya. Keep in mind though that you are not meant to swim for the first two weeks after surgery. Your partner will have to enjoy the water for both of you. The clinics listed below cater to tourists and should be able to take good care of you.
Phuket
We have not been able to visit this place but given the quality of the TRSC in Bangkok we think their Phuket branch deserved to be checked out. The LASIK center is on the 2nd floor of the Bangkok Phuket Hospital, one of the 13 locations of the Bangkok Hospital Group. 2/1 Hongyok Utis Rd., Muang Phuket 83000

Chiang Mai
We have not been able to visit this place but given the quality of the TRSC in Bangkok we think their Phuket branch deserved to be checked out. (map) Tel: (665) 335 1234.
Pattaya
The Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is one of the 13 locations run by the Bangkok Hospital Group. On their website they have listed three LASIK surgeons. The website itself and some stories surrounding one of their surgeons appear slightly chaotic, but that's just our impression without having visited the facility. We would love to get some feedback from people who had their LASIK surgery performed here. 301 Moo, 6 Sukhumvit Road, Km 143, Banglamung, Chonburi, (map) Tel: (663) 825 9999
